Truffle ceremony for people who feel stuck in burnout

A truffle ceremony is not a treatment for burnout. Some people who feel stuck in exhaustion or stress do look for room to rest and reflect. At Stars Frequencies in Amsterdam you start with a free 30-minute intro call, and the day itself (about 7 hours) starts calmly, with meditation and sound healing.

Truffle ceremony for burnout: does this sound familiar?

You kept going for years. Work came first, or caring for others, or both. Rest was for later. Now later has arrived, and rest doesn't feel like rest.

You sleep, but don't wake up rested. You sit on the sofa and your mind keeps making lists. Things that used to make you happy leave you cold. Maybe you're already at home, and it feels as if you're standing still while everything else keeps moving.

Some people in that situation look for a day to get out of their head, alongside the support of their GP or psychologist. Not to recover faster, but to feel what's underneath the tiredness.

What people often recognise

  • You're tired, even after a night's sleep
  • Your mind keeps planning, even when you sit still
  • You feel little, or everything at once
  • You know what you should do, but it doesn't happen
  • You only notice your limit once you're past it
The point of view

Letting go isn't a condition. It's a result. When you're exhausted, you have no energy left to surrender as well. So you don't have to here. The day starts with landing, and the rest can follow.

Who is a truffle ceremony for burnout for, and who isn't it for?

A good fit if

  • You're already talking to your GP or a counsellor and want room to reflect alongside that
  • You want to get out of your head, but don't know how
  • You need a calm day with plenty of guidance

Not a good fit if

  • You're so exhausted that a long day is too much right now: say so honestly in the intro call
  • You expect a ceremony to get you back to work quickly

Which health situations rule a ceremony out, you can read on the page about safety and contraindications.

How the day begins

Landing in your body, without commands

You arrive calmly. Rosa leads the meditation and plays the singing bowls live in the room. Your mind gets something to follow and your body can settle. Meditation and sound healing are part of every ceremony, private and duo ceremonies too. You don't have to let go of anything before you're ready.

After months of being switched on, sitting still is often the hardest part. So the day doesn't start with a task. You lie or sit, Rosa leads the meditation and the singing bowls sound through the room. You don't have to perform anything, not on this day either.

When it gets intense

What Rosa does when it gets heavy during the ceremony

A difficult moment can happen. You're not alone with it. Rosa stays in the room for the whole ceremony and there is always an emergency protocol. You can talk, move and ask Rosa to come and sit beside you. Difficult moments are part of it; they're not a sign that something is going wrong.

When you're exhausted, tiredness or sadness can suddenly feel big during the ceremony. That's allowed. Rosa sits with you, helps you find your breath again and lets you rest where you need to. Taking a pause is part of the day.

“At the hardest moment, Rosa stayed beside me.”

Beforehand

Intro call and screening: a conversation first

Every ceremony starts with a free 30-minute intro call. Rosa asks about your medication, your health and what feels scary to you. If a ceremony doesn't fit right now, she honestly says no. The amount is tailored to you together in the intro call.

In the intro call Rosa asks how you're doing now, whether you have support and which medication you use. Sometimes the honest answer is that a ceremony comes too early. Then she tells you, and thinks along with you about what does fit.

“The intro call put me at ease right away.”

Questions

Questions about a truffle ceremony for burnout

Truffle ceremony for burnout: can it help?

A truffle ceremony is not a treatment and doesn't promise recovery from burnout. Some participants do describe coming to rest for the first time in a long while, and feeling something again. See it as a day for rest and reflection, alongside the support of your GP or psychologist, not instead of it.

What if I lose control during the ceremony?

You don't lose consciousness: you know where you are, you can talk, move and ask Rosa to come and sit beside you. For people who have kept going on willpower for months, letting go on command is often the hardest part. So we don't ask for it. Meditation and sound healing give your body something to rest on, and Rosa stays in the room for the whole ceremony. Letting go isn't a condition here. If it happens, it's a result.

Isn't a whole day too much when I'm exhausted?

The day lasts about 7 hours, with plenty of rest and little to do. Even so, it can be too much for someone who is very tired. That's why you discuss it in the intro call. Rosa looks with you at whether it fits now, or whether a private ceremony at your own pace is better.

Do I need to prepare anything if I have little energy?

You don't have to practise anything at home. The preparation page lists what you can do in the two weeks before: less alcohol, lighter food, enough sleep and an intention you write down. You keep the day itself completely free. Rosa also goes through the preparation with you in the intro call.

What does a truffle ceremony at Stars Frequencies cost, and how long is the day?

A group ceremony costs €295 per person, with up to 8 participants. A private ceremony costs €495; if you come as two, you pay €891 together. The day lasts about 7 hours and always includes meditation and sound healing. You start with a free 30-minute intro call.

A ceremony is not a replacement for medical or psychological care.
