Truffle ceremony for people who feel stuck in patterns they can't shake

A truffle ceremony isn't addiction care and isn't a way to get rid of a habit. Some people who keep falling back into the same patterns do look for a guided day to feel what's underneath. At Stars Frequencies in Amsterdam, Rosa discusses honestly in a free intro call whether that fits right now.

Truffle ceremony and patterns: the same thing, again and again

You make a resolution, and a week later you're back in the same pattern. Working too much, scrolling too much, eating when you feel bad, one glass too many to end the day. You know it. Your head worked it out long ago.

A pattern has often been a solution. It once helped you not to feel something. That's why it won't be thought away.

If it's an addiction to alcohol, substances, gambling or medication, addiction care is the right place, for example via your GP or the Jellinek. A ceremony isn't meant for that. This page is about patterns that make your life smaller, but don't run it.

What people often recognise

  • You know what you should stop, and do it anyway
  • Your pattern returns when you're tired, alone or tense
  • You feel guilty, and then start again
  • You suspect the pattern helps you avoid something
  • Willpower works for a while, and then it doesn't
The point of view

Letting go isn't a condition. It's a result. A pattern doesn't let go of you because you decide it should. Here you start with landing, and look with attention at what the pattern does for you.

Who is a truffle ceremony for patterns for, and who isn't it for?

A good fit if

  • You want to understand and feel what a recurring pattern does for you
  • You have no active addiction and feel stable
  • You want a calm, guided day with an intro call beforehand

Not a good fit if

  • You have an active addiction to alcohol, substances, gambling or medication: then addiction care is the first step
  • You're looking for a ceremony to replace help you need right now

Which health situations rule a ceremony out, you can read on the page about safety and contraindications.

How the day begins

Landing in your body, without commands

You arrive calmly. Rosa leads the meditation and plays the singing bowls live in the room. Your mind gets something to follow and your body can settle. Meditation and sound healing are part of every ceremony, private and duo ceremonies too. You don't have to let go of anything before you're ready.

Many patterns are a way of not having to be still. So the day starts with stillness, but not alone. Rosa leads the meditation, the singing bowls sound, and your body can notice what it's like when nothing needs filling for a while.

When it gets intense

What Rosa does when it gets heavy during the ceremony

A difficult moment can happen. You're not alone with it. Rosa stays in the room for the whole ceremony and there is always an emergency protocol. You can talk, move and ask Rosa to come and sit beside you. Difficult moments are part of it; they're not a sign that something is going wrong.

When you go quiet, the feeling the pattern was pushing away may come up: restlessness, emptiness, sadness. Rosa stays in the room, sits with you if you ask and helps you let it be without having to work it away.

“At the hardest moment, Rosa stayed beside me.”

Beforehand

Intro call and screening: a conversation first

Every ceremony starts with a free 30-minute intro call. Rosa asks about your medication, your health and what feels scary to you. If a ceremony doesn't fit right now, she honestly says no. The amount is tailored to you together in the intro call.

In the intro call Rosa asks honestly about your use of alcohol, substances and medication. With an active addiction, a ceremony isn't responsible. She'll tell you that, and point you towards the right help.

“The intro call put me at ease right away.”

Questions

Questions about a truffle ceremony and patterns

Can a truffle ceremony break a pattern?

A truffle ceremony doesn't promise that a pattern will disappear. Participants do describe feeling what sat underneath their pattern during the day, and being able to do something with that in the weeks after. The change itself happens in your everyday life, not in one day.

Is a truffle ceremony suitable if I have an addiction?

No, not with an active addiction to alcohol, substances, gambling or medication. Then addiction care is the right place, via your GP or an organisation such as the Jellinek. Rosa asks honestly about your use in the intro call and says no if a ceremony isn't responsible.

What if I lose control during the ceremony?

You don't lose consciousness: you know where you are, you can talk, move and ask Rosa to come and sit beside you. For people who rely a lot on willpower, letting go on command is often the hardest part. So we don't ask for it. Meditation and sound healing give your body something to rest on, and Rosa stays in the room for the whole ceremony. Letting go isn't a condition here. If it happens, it's a result.

Do I need to stop anything beforehand?

Yes. The preparation page lists what's better to leave in the days before the ceremony, such as alcohol. Rosa also goes through that with you in the intro call, together with your medication.

What does a truffle ceremony at Stars Frequencies cost, and how long is the day?

A group ceremony costs €295 per person, with up to 8 participants. A private ceremony costs €495; if you come as two, you pay €891 together. The day lasts about 7 hours and always includes meditation and sound healing. You start with a free 30-minute intro call.

A ceremony is not a replacement for medical or psychological care.
