What are chakras?
In Hindu and yogic tradition, chakras are seven centres running along the body, from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. The word comes from Sanskrit and means wheel. Each chakra stands for a theme in that tradition, such as grounding, feeling, voice or connection.
It's worth being straight about this: chakras are an image from a spiritual tradition, not organs you can see on a scan. There's no scientific evidence that they exist as physical structures. That doesn't make the image worthless. Plenty of people use it as a map for moving their attention through the body.
- Root chakra: base of the spine, theme of grounding and safety.
- Sacral chakra: lower belly, theme of feeling and creativity.
- Solar plexus: upper belly, theme of personal strength and will.
- Heart chakra: centre of the chest, theme of connection.
- Throat chakra: throat, theme of voice and expression.
- Third eye: between the eyebrows, theme of intuition.
- Crown chakra: top of the head, theme of the bigger picture.
How does a meditation with chakra singing bowls work?
A meditation with chakra singing bowls is one where you bring your attention to one point in the body at a time while a bowl is sounding. The sound gives you something to rest on. You don't have to do or achieve anything, just listen and notice what happens.
Usually you lie down or sit, fully clothed. The guide plays the bowls in the room, sometimes close to your body, sometimes further away. You hear the tone, and you often feel the vibration too: in your chest, through the floor, in your hands. Many people find their thoughts slow down because the sound lingers.
From the bottom up
A chakra meditation often starts at the root and works its way up, one step at a time. Each point gets a different note. That gives your attention a fixed route, which helps if your mind tends to wander. You can also stay with a single chakra, such as the heart, if that theme feels relevant right now.

Which note belongs to which chakra?
In the most common system, each chakra is paired with a note of the scale. Crystal singing bowls are often tuned to those seven notes, so you can play the whole sequence. Other traditions use other systems, so treat this as a convention, not a law of nature.

A tone has a fixed frequency in hertz, and every bowl also produces overtones. That part is ordinary physics. Linking a tone to a chakra comes from tradition and experience, not from measurement.
A chakra singing bowl set: do you need all seven?
No, you don't need a full chakra singing bowl set for your own meditation. One bowl is enough to practise quietly. Many people start with F (heart) or G (throat), because those tones sit comfortably in the middle of the range.

What you can and can't expect
What people describe after a singing bowl meditation: calm, a body that feels heavy or light, images, sometimes an emotion that surfaces for a moment. Others mainly notice that it's easier to stay with their breath and their body. These are experiences, not promises.
What you shouldn't expect: that a bowl fixes a chakra or puts something in your body right. Nobody can back up claims like that, and Rosa doesn't make them.
