Sound healing workshop Amsterdam: what the day is
Many people who search for a sound healing workshop Amsterdam first met sound healing lying on a mat, eyes closed, while someone else played. Now they want to know how it works, and how to give it themselves. That is what this day is for. In one day you learn the basics: how a singing bowl works, how to play it, how to build a session and how to guide someone who is lying down.
Rosa leads the day. It takes place in Amsterdam-East, in a quiet room set up for the workshop, with crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls and other instruments ready for you. You don't bring your own instruments. The group is deliberately small, a maximum of 6 people, so everyone gets personal attention and real practice time. According to the workshop page, the day is taught in Dutch and English.

Who is this workshop for?
The workshop is for anyone curious about sound, whether you are a complete beginner or already work with people. You don't need a musical background. Singing bowls are forgiving: once you know how to hold and strike them, they do a lot of the work. What you bring is curiosity and the willingness to practise.
- Beginners who want to understand how sound works.
- Yoga and meditation teachers who want to add sound to their classes.
- Coaches and other guides who want to work with sound.
- Musicians and creative people who want to go deeper into sound.
What you learn in one day
The day moves from theory to practice, and most of the time is spent doing. Here is roughly how it is built up.
Theory and context
You start with the foundation: how sound works, what entrainment and binaural beats are, and how to work safely with sound, including the contraindications. You also look at the different instruments and what each is used for. This part makes the difference between someone who plays bowls and someone who can guide a session.
Playing the bowls
Then you get to work. You learn how to hold a crystal singing bowl, how to strike it and let it sing with a mallet, how to keep the tone going and how to move from one bowl to the next. You also play several bowls together and hear how the combination changes the whole room. Tibetan bowls are part of the day too, so you hear and feel the difference.
Building a sound journey
After lunch you learn how to structure a sound journey: a quiet opening, a fuller middle and a gentle close that helps someone come back. You also touch on how people work with sound around the chakras, as one of the ways sound is used in practice.
Your first session
The part many people remember most: in pairs, you give a short one-to-one session to a fellow participant. You are the guide, the other person lies down and receives. You discover what it feels like to be fully present for someone else. The day ends with a group sound journey and a short look back together.
What participants describe
People describe the day in different ways, but a few things come back. That there was a lot of room to practise. That they dropped out of their head. That it felt safe to try things without being good at them yet. That is what participants describe, not a promise of what you will feel.
“It helped me drop out of my head and into my body.”
“During the course I learned a great deal, and I was also able to receive a sound healing from Rosa herself. I felt calm, relaxed and safe, and the sounds did exactly what I had hoped they would.”

After the workshop: what you take home
You go home with a certificate of participation and the basics to give a simple sound journey at home, for friends or in your own practice. The certificate shows that you took part in the day. It is not an accredited professional qualification. Most participants start with small practice sessions for friends or family and build from there.
If you are thinking about doing this more seriously, read how to become a sound healer. It covers training, instruments and how to start small without making it too big too soon. And if you first want to understand sound healing better as a listener, start with what is sound healing.
Is this workshop also for professionals?
Yes. Coaches, yoga teachers and meditation teachers increasingly add sound to their work. The workshop gives you a practical foundation you can use right away in a class or a one-to-one session. Many participants already guide people in some way and want a new, calm way to open or close a session.
Sound in the truffle ceremony
Sound is also a fixed part of the truffle ceremony at Stars Frequencies. Every ceremony, including private ones, includes meditation and sound healing with live singing bowls, so your head has something to follow and your body can settle. If you get to know the sound in the workshop, you will recognise it in the ceremony. Stars Frequencies guides truffle ceremonies in Amsterdam in a small group of up to 8 people (€295 per person) or privately (€495). Read more about the truffle ceremony in Amsterdam.
