Microdosing or truffle ceremony: which one fits you?

Microdosing means taking a small amount of truffles regularly over a longer period, while a truffle ceremony is one guided day of about 7 hours with meditation, sound healing and an experience you clearly feel. Stars Frequencies guides truffle ceremonies in Amsterdam, in a small group of up to 8 people (€295 per person) or private (€495), and offers microdosing only as a guidance track, without products. Microdosing or truffle ceremony: the choice depends on your question, your health and how much you want to feel.

Microdosing or truffle ceremony: two different things

Both work with truffles, and that is where most of the similarity ends. Microdosing is something you fit into your everyday life, over weeks. A ceremony is a day you set apart, in a quiet space, with someone guiding you the whole time. They ask different things of you and they suit different moments.

People who think a lot about themselves often lean towards microdosing first. It sounds controllable. Small, gradual, nothing that takes you out of your normal day. That is understandable. It is also worth knowing what you are choosing, and what you are not.

What microdosing is, and what it is not

Microdosing means taking a small amount of truffles regularly, small enough that you can go about your day. People who try microdosing describe it in different ways: some notice more calm or focus, some notice little, some stop after a while. There is still a lot that is not known about microdosing, and we make no promises about what it does.

What microdosing is not: a smaller version of a ceremony. It does not give you a day of stillness with meditation and sound, and it does not give you someone next to you when something difficult comes up. It also does not replace looking honestly at your health and medication. Microdosing is not suitable for everyone either, for many of the same reasons a ceremony is not.

At Stars Frequencies, microdosing exists only as a guidance track: conversations with Rosa about your intention, your experiences and what you notice. There are no products, no instructions on this website and no amounts. Questions about the amount belong in a personal conversation, not on a web page. You can read more about what microdosing is.

What a truffle ceremony adds

A ceremony is a day set apart. You arrive, you meet the group or Rosa alone, and you are not expected to be productive or clever. Meditation and sound healing are a fixed part of every ceremony. They give your head something to follow and help your body come to rest.

For people who like to stay in control, that is often the point. With microdosing you stay in charge of your day. In a ceremony you still know where you are, you can talk, move and ask Rosa to sit with you, but you are not managing a schedule. You do not have to let go before you are ready. Letting go is not a condition. It is a consequence.

The amount is not something you figure out yourself. We tune the amount to you together in the intro call. The day takes about 7 hours and includes a meal. Read more about the truffle ceremony and what the day looks like.

When microdosing may fit

  • You want to explore slowly, within your normal routine.
  • A full ceremony feels like too much right now.
  • You want to work with a question over a longer period, with regular conversations.
  • You are stable, and your medication has been discussed.

Ask Rosa about the microdosing guidance track in the intro call. The information about it is in Dutch for now, so ask her directly whether it can be done in English.

When a truffle ceremony may fit

  • You want a day of full attention, away from daily life.
  • You want to be guided the whole time, not on your own at home.
  • You are drawn to meditation and sound as a way in.
  • You have tried microdosing before and want to know what a guided day is like.

About half of the participants are doing it for the first time. No experience needed. You do not need to have tried microdosing first, and you do not need to start microdosing afterwards. Write to Rosa to ask whether a ceremony in English is possible for you.

Can you combine microdosing and a ceremony?

Some people combine microdosing with a ceremony, before or after it. Whether and how that makes sense for you depends on your situation, so we do not give general advice here. If you are microdosing now, tell Rosa in the intro call. She will discuss with you how to approach the time around the ceremony.

Safety comes first either way. A ceremony is not suitable if you or a first-degree relative has had a psychosis or schizophrenia, with bipolar disorder type I, during an acute crisis or with thoughts of ending your life, with lithium or MAO inhibitors, with serious heart or vascular disease, unstable raised blood pressure or epilepsy, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Frequently asked questions

Questions about microdosing and a ceremony

Can I combine microdosing with a ceremony in the same period?

Discuss it with Rosa in the intro call. Whether microdosing around a ceremony makes sense for you depends on your situation and your health, so there is no general rule we give here. Tell her honestly what you are doing now, and she will think it through with you.

I have been microdosing for a while. What would a ceremony add?

A ceremony adds a day set apart, with meditation, sound healing and Rosa in the room the whole time. It is an experience you clearly feel, rather than something in the background of your day. Whether that is what you need is something you can explore in the free intro call.

What is safer: microdosing or a ceremony?

Neither is free of risk, and both ask for honesty about your health and medication. The same conditions that rule out a ceremony, such as a history of psychosis or the use of lithium, also matter for microdosing. A ceremony comes with screening beforehand and guidance the whole day. Always discuss your situation before you start with either.

Which one gives results faster?

We do not make promises about results, for either of them. Microdosing is spread out over weeks, a ceremony is one day. What participants describe after a ceremony differs from person to person, and what you do with it afterwards takes time as well.

Can I start microdosing without ceremony experience?

Yes, you do not need ceremony experience to start a microdosing guidance track, and you do not need microdosing experience before a ceremony. There is no fixed sequence. It depends on what you are looking for and what feels right to you.

Will you tell me how much to take?

Not on this website. For a ceremony, we tune the amount to you together in the intro call. For microdosing, that conversation is part of the guidance track with Rosa.

Are truffles legal in the Netherlands?

Yes. Truffles are legal in the Netherlands and do not fall under the Opium Act. Mushrooms are a different matter: they are banned. Stars Frequencies works only with legal truffles.

Want to talk it through first?

In a free 30-minute intro call you talk with Rosa about where you are now and whether a ceremony fits. You only pay once it is clear in that call that it fits.
