Nervous about a truffle ceremony? You're not the only one
Maybe you've been reading about truffle ceremonies for months. You live in your head, so you want to understand it first. You compare, you think it over, you put it aside and then come back to it. Part of you wants to feel something again instead of only thinking. And at the same time you're afraid to lose control.
That hesitation isn't a problem. It's information. Someone who doesn't hesitate at all probably hasn't thought it through. You have. About half of the participants are doing it for the first time. No experience needed.
“To be honest, I had quite a few doubts about signing up for the ceremony. The idea of doing this in a group felt less right for me. But that turned out to be one of the most beautiful parts.”
What exactly are you hesitating about?
Hesitation sounds like one thing, but it's usually several at once. See which of these questions are yours:
- Is it safe, and is it legal?
- Am I actually ready?
- What if it gets too intense and I lose control?
- What if nothing happens at all?
- What will other people think?
- Is this really for someone like me?
They feel like hesitation, but they're often fears. Understandable fears, and each one has an honest answer. Truffles are legal in the Netherlands: unlike mushrooms, they don't fall under the Opium Act. You can read more on the page about the legal side of a truffle ceremony. Should I do a truffle ceremony? Why the doubt won't go away
There's a reason hesitation doesn't lift, however much you read. Your mind is trying to make a decision about something it doesn't know yet. It wants certainty in advance. But some answers only come once your body is allowed to take part.
That's why Stars Frequencies starts from one idea: letting go is not a condition. It is a result. You don't have to resolve your doubts before taking a step. You don't have to prove you're ready either. A ceremony is built so that trust can grow along the way:
- A free 30-minute intro call with screening, including questions about your health and any medication.
- Meditation and sound healing with singing bowls as a fixed part of every ceremony, private ones included.
- Rosa is in the room for the whole ceremony.
- A small group of at most 8 people (€295 per person) or a private ceremony (€495), on a day of about 7 hours.
“I was nervous beforehand, but Rosa's calm was contagious.”
If you keep putting it off
Hesitation protects you from the unknown. That's a useful job. But it can also keep you stuck in something you already know and don't really want anymore. Maybe you've been putting this off for six months. Maybe longer. Then it's worth asking yourself honestly what has changed in that time.
That's not a reason to rush. There is no rush. It's simply an invitation to look at whether your hesitation is still protecting something, or whether it has mostly turned into postponing. Sometimes not choosing is a choice too.
Healthy caution, or fear that holds you back
Healthy caution asks questions and wants answers. Fear that holds you back avoids the questions. If you're reading this, you're probably already on the side of caution. The next question then isn't whether you should go, but what you still want to know.
The smallest step: a conversation, not a decision
You don't have to decide anything now. The intro call takes 30 minutes, is free and commits you to nothing. Rosa asks about your health, any medication and why you want to come. You ask all your questions, including the ones that feel silly. If a ceremony isn't right for you, Rosa will say so honestly.
“The preparation was so careful. The intro call put me at ease straight away.”
If it still doesn't feel right after that conversation, that's an answer too. Want to read more first? Have a look at participant experiences or at the page about our truffle ceremony in Amsterdam, which explains how the day unfolds.
