Yurt Retreat: what can you expect?

1 april 2026·5 min read time·By Rosa

A day in a yurt, surrounded by nature — far from Amsterdam, close to yourself. The Yurt Retreat combines singing bowls, ceremonial work and deep silence in a setting you won't easily forget. Here is what such a day looks like.

The setting: what is a yurt?

A yurt is a round, traditional tent — originally from the nomadic culture of Central Asia. In our context, it is a beautifully decorated, warm space in nature: with rugs, cushions, candles, flowers and an altar. The circular shape has deep symbolic meaning: equality, community, no hierarchy. Everyone sits in the circle.

How does the day begin?

We welcome you with tea and space to land. After a gentle welcome, we open the day in a circle — everyone shares their intention. This creates an atmosphere of safety and connection before we begin. There is no rush. The day has its own rhythm.

Singing bowls and ceremonial work

The heart of the retreat is an extensive sound personal journey, followed by light ceremonial work. We work with a cacao ceremonie, and depending on the date also with truffles, and always with live singing bowls. The day has an arc: from opening to deepening to landing. Everything is carefully curated.

Silence and nature

Between sessions there is time for silence in nature. A walk, a moment by the fire, rest on a mat in the grass. This is not a programme of 'always doing something'. The silence is an active part of the retreat. It is in the silent moments that the most lands.

What do you take home?

Participants afterwards describe the day as 'a reset'. Not dramatic, but deep — a feeling that something has shifted. You go home with concrete insights, a small integration guide and the connection with the other participants. Many participants after a Yurt Retreat sign up for the Year Journey or a next ceremonie.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need ceremonie experience for the yurt retreat?

No. The retreat is accessible to beginners and people with more experience. Rosa guides the day so everyone can find their own depth.

How large is the group at the yurt retreat?

We work in small groups for genuine connection and attention. The location and intimate format create a safe, calming atmosphere.

Is the Yurt Retreat also suitable as an introduction to sound healing?

Yes. The day combines singing bowls, meditation and stillness in a sacred space. An excellent introduction for anyone experiencing sound healing in a ritual context for the first time.
