Set & setting — mindset and environment — are the two most decisive factors for the quality and safety of a psychedelic experience. Timothy Leary coined the term; decades of research have confirmed the principle.
Set refers to mindset: your emotional state, expectations, intention and psychological readiness at the moment of the ceremony. A clear intention, good preparation and emotional openness greatly increase the chance of a meaningful experience.
Setting is the physical and social environment: the space, the people present, the music, the atmosphere. A safe, well-cared-for setting with experienced facilitators — like we offer — is a basic requirement for ceremonial work. We put a great deal of care into our setting: comfortable mats, flowers, candles, carefully curated music.
In the week before the ceremony, we recommend: avoiding alcohol and heavy food, extra sleep, meditating or journaling, clearly formulating your intention, and consciously seeking quiet. We send you a complete preparation guide after your intake.
