What is a truffle ceremony? Everything you need to know before you book

10 juni 2026·8 min read time·By Rosa

Whether you write 'truffle ceremony' or 'truffle ceremonie' — you are looking for the same thing. A day of attention, guidance and awareness. Maybe because of burnout. Maybe because therapy has not taken you far enough. Maybe because you want to feel what you have not felt in a long time. This article honestly explains what a truffle ceremony is, how it works, who it suits — and what a day with Rosa looks like.

What is a truffle ceremony?

A truffle ceremony is a guided day where you take magic truffles in a safe environment, with professional support before, during and after the experience. The active substance in magic truffles binds to the same brain receptors activated in deep meditation — but faster and deeper. The Default Mode Network — the brain network behind circular thinking, self-criticism and stuck patterns — temporarily becomes less active. In that space, insights become accessible that are normally hard to reach.

What to expect from a truffle ceremony

A truffle ceremony at Stars Frequencies lasts a full day — from arrival to departure approximately 7 hours. After the intro call and a brief intention-setting, the day begins with sound healing. Rosa plays live with singing bowls, drum and voice. After the sound healing, you take the magic truffles. The effects begin within 30 to 60 minutes and last 4 to 6 hours. After that comes integration: rest, space for conversation and a meal together. You do not leave empty — you leave with something to build on. More about the day on the ceremony page.

Who is a truffle ceremony for?

Most participants come with a concrete question: how do I get out of burnout? How do I break a pattern I have carried for years? How do I reconnect with myself? They do not need experience with meditation, retreats or spirituality. They do not need to be 'open' to anything mystical. They just need to be honest about what they are looking for. That is enough. Rachelle: 'The ceremony gave me insights I had not reached in years of therapy.' Iris: 'Three days later I was back to my old energy level — fit and happy.' Read more participant experiences.

What makes a truffle ceremony at Stars Frequencies different?

Small group — max. 8 people. Mandatory intro call beforehand — Rosa knows your situation before you arrive. Sound healing integrated into the ceremony, not as an add-on. Integration support built in afterwards. And Rosa says no when needed: if your situation is too vulnerable, the ceremony does not simply start. Safety is not a guarantee — it is a method. Read more about who Rosa is on the about Rosa page.

Is a truffle ceremony legal and safe?

Magic truffles are fully legal in the Netherlands — they fall outside the Opium Act. Safety depends on the guidance, the selection of participants and the preparation. There are contraindications: people with a history of psychosis, bipolar disorder or heart conditions do not participate. Use of SSRIs or MAO inhibitors is a reason for refusal. The intro call is where this is assessed. Read everything about safety and preparation.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between 'truffelceremonie' and 'truffle ceremony'?

No difference at all — they are two spellings for the same thing. The official term is 'truffelceremonie' (without space), but both spellings are widely used.

Is a truffle ceremony legal in the Netherlands?

Yes. Magic truffles are fully legal in the Netherlands and fall outside the Opium Act. A truffle ceremony is therefore one of the few legal forms of ceremonial consciousness work in the Netherlands.

How much does a truffle ceremony cost?

At Stars Frequencies a group ceremony (max. 8 people) costs €250 per person. A private ceremony costs €450. Both include the intro call, guidance and integration.

How long does a truffle ceremony last?

A full day — from arrival to departure approximately 7 hours. The active effects of the magic truffles last 4 to 6 hours. After that comes shared integration time.

Who is a truffle ceremony not suitable for?

A truffle ceremony is not suitable for people with a history of psychosis, schizophrenia or bipolar disorder type 1, those using MAO inhibitors or lithium, those with serious heart conditions, or during pregnancy. The intro call is mandatory — precisely to assess this.

Ready for the next step?
