You are stuck. What now?

11 juni 2026·6 min read time·By Rosa

Being stuck is one of the hardest things — not because it is so painful, but because it is so quiet. There is no acute crisis. No breaking point. Just: this is it. This pattern. This exhaustion. This feeling of not moving, while everything around you simply continues.

What being stuck feels like

You know what it is. Maybe for months, maybe longer. You function — work, relationships, obligations. From the outside things are fine enough. From the inside: a feeling of emptiness. Or of circling without arriving anywhere. Or a specific pattern you keep recognising — in relationships, in your work, in how you react — that you cannot break no matter how much you understand it. Understanding does not solve it. You already know that.

Why it is so persistent

Here is the honest explanation. Patterns are not intellectual. They are not stored in your thoughts — they are stored in your body, in your nervous system, in the reflexes that once protected you but now limit you. Therapy helps you understand them. But understanding and letting go are two different things. The Default Mode Network — the brain network behind circular thinking and rigid self-perception — keeps patterns in place. That is not character. That is neurology. And that is also the good news: neurology can change.

The insight that must come from within

Socrates called it maieutics — the art of the midwife. He did not give his students answers. He asked questions until the knowledge that was already inside them came to the surface. A truffle ceremony works the same way. The active substance in magic truffles temporarily lowers the activity of the Default Mode Network. In that stillness — without the constant judging and filtering — something else surfaces. Insights that were already in you. Patterns you can now see without being inside them. Emotions that can finally move. Nobody imposes anything on you. Your own system knows what it needs. The ceremony clears the path.

What stuck people describe afterwards

Rachelle: 'The ceremony gave me insights I had not reached in years of therapy.' Stef: 'Complete. Reunited with my inner child, and from there I feel a lot of energy and joy.' Martijn: 'An experience that opens things and creates space — something you benefit from for years.' They were stuck. They are not anymore. Read more participant experiences.

Is this for you too?

If you are stuck and recognise what is described here — the answer is probably yes. Not because a ceremony has all the answers. But because it creates an environment where your own answers can surface. You do not need to be ready. You do not need to be certain. You only need to be willing. Read more about how to prepare and about the safety protocols.

Frequently asked questions

Does a truffle ceremony work even if I have been stuck for years?

Especially then. Being stuck for a long time means the usual routes — therapy, willpower, time — have not worked. Not because you did something wrong, but because the pattern sits deeper than those routes can reach. A ceremony works through a different layer.

What is the difference between a truffle ceremony and therapy?

Therapy works intellectually: you understand patterns and build new strategies. A ceremony works through body and emotion: the Default Mode Network — the brain network behind stuck self-perception — temporarily becomes less active, allowing insights to surface that are normally blocked. Both can be valuable, and they often complement each other.

How do I know if I am ready?

Being ready is not a requirement. Being willing is. The intro call is there to assess whether the circumstances are responsible. Emotional readiness is not a prerequisite — for many people it is not fully present either. Rosa assesses this together with you.

How long do the effects of a ceremony last?

Participants describe immediate shifts that they feel for weeks to months. The depth lasts longer when integration follows — consciously reflecting on what came up, talking about it, giving it a place. Integration is built into the day itself, and Rosa offers additional guidance after the ceremony.

Can I do the ceremony if I use antidepressants?

SSRIs (antidepressants) generally reduce the effectiveness of magic truffles. They are not an absolute contraindication, but the combination can be unpredictable. MAO inhibitors are an absolute contraindication. Always discuss this in the intro call — and never taper medication without consulting a doctor.
