Learning sound healing: what to expect from a workshop

18 april 2026·5 min read time·By Rosa

Many people experience sound healing as a participant — and become so fascinated that they want to learn how it works. In a Sound Healing Workshop, you learn the essence in one day: how to play singing bowls, how to build a session, and what happens in the body and mind during sound healing.

Who is this workshop for?

The workshop is for anyone curious about sound healing — whether you are a complete beginner or already have experience as a yoga teacher, therapist or massage practitioner. You don't need a musical background. The singing bowls play themselves once you know how to handle them. What you bring is openness.

What do you learn in a day?

We begin with theory: how does entrainment work, what does sound do to the nervous system, what kinds of bowls are there and why? Then we get straight to work. You learn how to play a crystal singing bowl with a mallet, how to sustain the tone, and how to transition from one bowl to another. By the end of the day, you lead a ten-minute mini-session for a fellow participant.

The instruments: crystal singing bowls

In our workshop, we work with crystal singing bowls made from quartz crystal. They resonate deeply in the body, are easy to learn and sound clear and pure. We also discuss other instruments — such as tingshas, koshis and handpan — but the focus is on what you can immediately apply.

Taking home

After the workshop, you go home with a comprehensive guide, a recommended repertoire of frequencies per chakra, and — if you wish — the option to purchase a singing bowl through Rosa. We work together with a supplier of high-quality crystal bowls, so you immediately choose the right instrument for your use.

Is this also suitable for professional practitioners?

Absolutely. Coaches, therapists, yoga and meditation teachers are increasingly adding sound healing to their practice. Singing bowls are a powerful complement to talk therapy, body work or group sessions. Many participants in our workshops are professionals looking to enrich their offering.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a musical background for the sound healing workshop?

No. You do not need to be a musician. You learn to play singing bowls in one day. The focus is on feeling and intention — not technical musicality.

Can I guide sessions myself immediately after the workshop?

After the workshop you have a solid foundation. Most participants start with small practice sessions for friends or family and build from there.

Which instruments do you use in the sound healing workshop?

You work with crystal singing bowls in different notes, ocean drum, koshi chimes and other percussion instruments. You learn when to use each and how to build a complete sound journey.
