Offering sound healing professionally is a calling — and a craft. More and more people want to turn their passion for sound and healing into a practice. But what does that actually require of you? And how do you start without making it too big?
What does a sound healer do?
A sound healer guides people through experiences of deep relaxation, emotional processing and energetic alignment — through sound and vibrations. This can be individual: one-on-one, with singing bowls above the body of a client lying down. Or in a group setting: a sound bath or sound journey in which multiple people are guided simultaneously. Both require presence, attention and technical knowledge of instruments.
Which instruments do you learn?
The foundation of most practitioners are crystal singing bowls — clear, powerful and relatively straightforward to learn. Then other instruments are often added: Tibetan bowls, tingshas, koshi chimes, ocean drums, frame drums or gongs. Each instrument has its own sound character and application. You don't need to master everything — a focus on two or three instruments is already a complete practice.
Training and education
There is no legally required qualification for sound healers — but that does not mean training is superfluous. Good training gives you the theoretical foundation (how does entrainment work, what are contraindications, how do you structure a session), the practical skills (playing, timing, presence) and the personal deepening (your own healing, your own relationship with sound). The Stars Frequencies Sound Healing Workshop is an accessible first step.
From workshop to practice
After a workshop you have the foundation. But the craft is learned by doing. Start with sessions for friends and family — free, as practice. Ask for honest feedback. Deepen your knowledge through additional training. Build your instrument set gradually. A good sound healer is never done learning.
Is it financially viable?
An individual sound healing session typically costs €60-€120. A sound bath for a group of 10 people can bring in €200-€400. Many practitioners combine it with other work at first. That is fine — and perhaps even healthy. The best sound healers work from vocation, not urgency. Want to know if the Sound Healing Workshop suits you? Schedule a conversation via WhatsApp.
