Microdosing after your truffle ceremonie — what works and why

6 mei 2026·7 min read time·By Rosa

A truffle ceremonie opens a door. But what happens afterwards — in the days, weeks and months that follow — determines how deep that opening goes. Microdosing is one of the most powerful tools for anchoring the insights from your ceremonie. But only if you know when, how and why.

The golden window after a ceremonie

In the 24 to 72 hours after a ceremonie, your brain is in a state of heightened neural plasticity. Neurons connect more easily, old patterns are looser and new habits land more deeply. This golden window is precious — it is also why integration matters so much. Microdosing in the weeks that follow can extend this window: it keeps the brain subtly more receptive without throwing you off balance.

When to start — and when not to

Wait at least two weeks after your ceremonie before starting to microdose. The first week is a period of intense processing. Your body and mind need rest, not an additional stimulus. After two weeks, once you feel emotionally stable and the intensity of the ceremonie has settled, microdosing is a valuable addition. Starting too early — while much is still in motion — can disrupt the processing rather than support it.

How microdosing supports integration

Microdosing helps with integration in three ways. First, it keeps neural plasticity subtly elevated, making it easier for new behavioural patterns to take root. Second, magic truffles at microdosing levels has a mild mood-stabilising effect, which helps when the ceremonie has brought up emotionally heavy material. Third, it creates a daily conscious relationship with the process — a ritual reminder that you are in the middle of a transformation that deserves attention.

Which protocol works best

The Fadiman protocol is the best choice after a ceremonie: day 1 dose, days 2 and 3 rest. The rest days give you observation space — essential if you want to see what is changing. A cycle of four to eight weeks is a good guideline. Start low: 0.5 grams of fresh truffles is already effective as support for many people. Keep a journal. Write down what you notice on dosing days versus rest days. That comparison often produces the clearest insights.

What you need: quality and consistency

For good results, two things are crucial: quality of the truffles and consistency of the dosing. For that we work with Fungki — ready-to-use microdosing packs of legal Dutch magic truffles, specially formulated for consistent dosing. You'll find them in our shop. Cheap or inconsistent truffles make it impossible to evaluate what the dose is doing to you. Invest in quality — it is the foundation of a meaningful cycle.

Microdosing does not replace integration

Microdosing is a tool, not a solution. The real integration happens in conversations, in your journal, in the choices you make. In how you respond differently to stress. In the boundary you now do set. In the conversation you finally have. Microdosing supports that process — it makes your nervous system more receptive to new patterns. But the patterns themselves? Those are yours to create.

Frequently asked questions

When can I start microdosing after a ceremonie?

Wait at least two weeks. The first week after the ceremonie is a period of intense processing — microdosing during that time disrupts the natural integration process. After two weeks, once you feel emotionally stable, microdosing is a powerful addition.

Does microdosing replace integration?

No. Microdosing supports integration but does not replace it. Journalling, movement, conversations and rest are the core. Microdosing is a subtle tool that helps your nervous system anchor new behaviours and patterns.

How long do I microdose after a ceremonie?

One complete cycle of four to eight weeks is a good guideline. After that period you evaluate: what has changed? What do you still need? Some people do one cycle, others choose multiple cycles with breaks in between.

Which protocol works best after a ceremonie?

The Fadiman protocol — day 1 dose, days 2 and 3 rest — is the most suitable after a ceremonie. It gives you the most observation space and prevents you from doing too much too quickly.

Can I plan a new ceremonie while microdosing?

Stop microdosing at least one week before a next ceremonie. The short-term combination is not dangerous, but the tolerance built up through microdosing can reduce the effectiveness of a ceremonial dose.
